In Honor and Remembrance of Mr. Jimmy Scott
Achievement Tree Farm stands as a living testament to the legacy of Mr. Jimmy Scott, a dedicated land steward and early practitioner of silvopasture in East Texas. On his family’s land in Douglass, Texas, Mr. Scott thoughtfully integrated pine timber, forage, and cattle grazing into one harmonious system, showing how forestry and agriculture can support both the land and the livelihood it sustains.
Mr. Scott’s approach reflects the principles of regenerative land stewardship nurturing healthy soils, supporting wildlife habitat, and sustaining working lands for future generations. The continued presence of cattle grazing beneath well-managed pine stands remains a visible reminder of his foresight, care, and commitment to the land.
In honor and remembrance of Mr. Jimmy Scott, we recognize his lasting contribution to sustainable land management in our region. His work continues to inspire small farmers, ranchers, and landowners who share the belief that when we care for the land, the land will care for us.
